Yunus Social Business Centers of Higher Education Institutions around the World
Yunus Social Business Centers (YSBCs) are a social business hub established within higher education institutions around the world. YSBCs carry out research on the Seven Principles outlined by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
Established under an agreement between the Yunus Center in Bangladesh and universities in countries around the world, YSBCs operate with the mission to disseminate the concept and practice of social business among university students and researchers. They promote social business through research, classes, academic program and curriculum development, and field studies, as well as social business promotion events such as contests, workshops, and seminars.
YSBCs also run activities designed to advance the concept of social business to the wider world outside of university communities.
The SBRC of Kyushu University was founded as the world’s eighth, and Japan’s first Yunus Social Business Center in 2011.
